About Nine Adventures

Your Journey. Our Commitment.

Our story

One office on Lazimpat Road since 2017

Nine Adventures Pvt. Ltd. has run trekking and tours out of one office on Lazimpat Road in Kathmandu since 2017. We run treks and tours in Nepal, the Kailash and Muktinath pilgrimages, outbound packages to Thailand, and the air ticketing and visa work that goes with them.

How we work

Your guide works for us, not for a subcontractor

When you book a trek with us, our guide meets you, the permits are issued in your name, and the office that answers the phone at 4,000 metres is the same one that took the booking. Ask us who is leading your departure and we can tell you before you pay.

What it costs

The price on the page is the price, and it says what it leaves out

Every trip publishes what its price covers and — the part most operators leave off — what it does not. Insurance is excluded on every trip that goes high, and we say so on the trip page rather than in the small print after you have paid.

When we go

We publish the dates before you ask for them

Fixed departures are on the site months ahead with the date, the seats and the status of each one. You can see whether a trip is running before you make contact, instead of writing in to find out.

Where we work

Nepal first, and four countries beyond it

Annapurna, Mustang and the hill districts around Gorkha are where most of our work is. Tibet for the Kailash parikrama, and India, Bhutan and Thailand for tours and pilgrimage.

What we are for

Our mission

Be the operator, not the middleman

To run our own trips, publish what they really cost, and answer the phone ourselves — so that somebody booking from another country knows exactly who is responsible before they pay, and reaches that same office from 4,000 metres up.

Our vision

Judged on what we publish, not what we promise

A Nepali company people choose because the itinerary, the dates and the exclusions are all in the open before any money moves — where the guide on the mountain is someone we employ, and the answer to "what does this not include" is already written down.

Why travel with us

What you are actually buying

The same six things we say on the front page, because they are the six that decide it. Each one is a promise you can hold us to.

  1. No hidden charges

The price you see includes permits, lodging and meals. What is not included is written down, in a list, on the same page.

  2. Local experts, direct pricing

We are the operator, not an agent reselling someone else’s trip. There is no middleman between you and the mountain.

  3. Fully customisable

Tell us your dates and who is coming, and we rebuild the itinerary around you. Most of our trips run this way.

  4. 24/7 support on the trail

A real person answers, day or night, in Kathmandu and on the mountain.

  5. Licensed guides

    NTB-certified, wilderness first-aid trained, and carrying a pulse oximeter above 3,000 m.

  6. Free cancellation

Plans change. Your booking flexes with them.

Where we go

The countries we have trips running in, and how many in each. This is what is on sale today, not what we could arrange.

What a price covers

Every trip lists what the price includes, and — the part most operators leave out — what it does not. Across the catalogue that is 40 things included and 27 written down as not included, on 9 of 10 trips.

The rest of what we do

Trekking is the visible half. The office also does the paperwork around it, for travellers who never book a trip with us.

From the founder

Why we do it this way

We registered this company in 2017 with one office on Lazimpat Road, and one idea that has not needed changing since: the people who take your booking should be the same people who answer when something goes wrong on the mountain.

So our guides work for us rather than for a subcontractor, the permits are issued in your name, and the price on the page is the price — including the part most companies leave off, which is what it does not cover. The things an operator chooses not to mention are the ones that cost you later.

If what you need is not on this page, ask us. We would far rather answer the question before you book than after.

Can't find the information you need?

Ask us directly. Somebody in the Kathmandu office answers, and no question about a permit, a price or a departure date is too small to send.
