Arrivals
We track the flight rather than the schedule, so a delayed landing does not mean a driver who has gone home. The pickup point at Tribhuvan is outside the terminal building past the taxi rank, which is not obvious the first time; we send a photograph of exactly where to stand, and the driver's name and number, before you fly.
Departures
Picked up from your hotel with time for the queues, which at Kathmandu are longer than the airport's size suggests, particularly on the early-morning Gulf departures.
Why arrange it in advance
The first twenty minutes in an unfamiliar country set the tone for everything after. Arriving at two in the morning to negotiate a fare in a currency you have not yet handled, in a car park you do not know, is a poor start — and it is where visitors to Kathmandu are most reliably overcharged. A transfer booked in advance has a fixed price agreed before you land.
