Adventure covers the things people add to a trip rather than build one around, and the trips that string several of them together. Wildlife safari, rafting, bungee and paragliding are all arranged here.

**Rafting.** The Trishuli is the classic day run and sits on the road between Kathmandu and Pokhara, so it costs you no extra travelling. The Seti is gentler and good with children. The Bhote Koshi is the steep one, and it is not a first river.

**Wildlife safari.** Chitwan and Bardia, in the Terai — jeep drives, guided jungle walks and canoe trips on the river, looking for one-horned rhino, gaur and, with real luck and no promises, a tiger. Bardia is further and quieter, which is precisely why it is better.

**Bungee and paragliding.** The gorge jumps on the Bhote Koshi, and tandem flights from Sarangkot over Phewa Lake at Pokhara — thirty minutes off a hill with the Annapurnas across the water, and no experience needed.
