Overview

Upper Mustang & Muktinath is a tour to the trans-Himalayan Mustang district of Nepal, priced at NPR 14,500 per person including breakfast, dinner, hotel accommodation and all sightseeing. It visits Muktinath Temple, Lo Manthang Durbar, the Chhoser sky caves, Dhumba Lake, Marpha village, Kagbeni, Rupse Waterfall, Tatopani hot spring, the Kusma suspension bridge, Galeshwor Mahadev, Baglung Kalika and Pundikot Mahadev.

North of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri the rain stops. Mustang sits in their shadow, and it looks and feels like Tibet because it effectively is — the old kingdom of Lo, walled city and all, with cliff caves cut into the ochre rock at Chhoser.

Muktinath, at 3,710 metres, is sacred to Hindus and Buddhists both. The 108 water spouts and the natural gas flame burning beside a spring are why people come from across the subcontinent.
