Trekking peaks arranged on request, with permits, guide and technical gear.

Peak climbing sits between trekking and mountaineering. The trekking peaks — Island Peak at 6,189 metres, Mera Peak at 6,476, Lobuche East, Yala and Pisang — are climbed on a rope with crampons and an ice axe, and they are the step people take when a base camp trek is no longer enough.

They are not a harder walk. A summit day starts around two in the morning, involves fixed rope on snow and ice, and requires that you can use crampons and a jumar before you arrive. We will not send somebody up one who has not done that, and we will say so rather than take the booking.

What a climb needs beyond a trek: a climbing permit from the Nepal Mountaineering Association, a climbing guide rather than a trekking guide, technical equipment, an extra acclimatisation day or two, and insurance that covers climbing above 6,000 metres rather than trekking.

**There is nothing on the published calendar for this yet.** We arrange these on request, around your dates and your experience, and the permits and gear are the part we handle. Tell us which peak and roughly when, and we will come back with a written itinerary and a price.
