What the Annapurna Base Camp trek actually costs in 2026
A line-by-line breakdown of what you pay, what is included, and what people forget to budget for.
Trek prices in Nepal are quoted so differently by different companies that comparing them is close to meaningless. So here is ours, itemised.
Our price
NPR 25,999 for Nepali citizens. INR 29,950 for Indian nationals. USD 499 for other international travellers. Per person, for the 5-night, 6-day trek.
What that covers
- A licensed, English-speaking trekking guide for six days
- ACAP entry permit and TIMS card
- Five nights of lodge accommodation on the trail
- Breakfast, lunch and dinner every day
- Private vehicle from Pokhara to the trailhead and back
What it does not cover, and what to budget
- Getting to Pokhara. Tourist bus from Kathmandu is inexpensive; the flight is faster and costs considerably more.
- Insurance. Non-negotiable, and it must cover trekking to 4,500 m and helicopter evacuation.
- A porter. Optional. Worth it if your pack is over about 10 kg, and it is direct local employment.
- Hot showers, charging and bottled drinks on the trail. A few hundred rupees a day, more the higher you go.
- Tips. Customary, not compulsory.
Why some quotes are lower
Usually because meals are excluded, or the guide is unlicensed, or the itinerary starts from a roadhead that requires an extra vehicle you pay for separately. Ask any operator, including us, exactly which meals are included and whether permits are in the price.
